The W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie

​In a day and age in which eggs on toast takes too long to make and cereal is just outright boring, the Universe steps in and brings us all the perfect breakfast; and don’t we all need it!

Introducing, the Wickedly Awesome Kick-ass Energizing Ultimate Power Smoothie! (Or, for short, the W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie).

Necessities:

The first thing that you need is a blender, and if you don’t have one, buy one here.
​
Words cannot express the usefulness of these zippy little kitchen friends. Need more convincing? Okay!
  • Peanut butter
  • Soup
That’s right, homemade peanut butter and soup are two of the endless possibilities that come with a blender!

The second thing you need is about 5 minutes for breakfast, I’ve actually gotten it down to 4.5 minutes personally, but I don’t want to boast.

Finally, your ingredients (go organic for optimum health benefits and plus points with the future in-laws):
​
  • 40g of oats (or 3 heaped dessert spoons)
  • 1 banana (preferably peeled) or ½ an avocado (your call)
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 200 ml of low-fat fresh milk (or soy milk does the job for those who’re not so keen on animal produce)
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon

Method:

Combine ingredients (in whatever order you like, I personally change things up daily just to add spice to my already uncontrollable excitement when preparing this CHAMP of a meal.   I also love my cat, dearly.) in the blender and let her rip for 10 – 15 seconds.   If excitement levels do reach and uncontrollable high, I find the Macarena keeps me at a mildly professional level during the blending process.

Pour your new nectar of life into a tall (preferably chilled) glass and voila!

 
Preferable Practices of Consumption:

There are three preferable practices of consuming your W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie.

Practice 1 – Sit down and enjoy your W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie.

Practice 2 – Continue readying yourself for the day while consuming your W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie

Practice 3 – Transfer your W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie into a portable cup (which can be reused in your favourite coffee shops instead of nasty, throwaway takeaway cups) and joyfully walk with it to work!    That’s right, unlike those conventional breakfasts of the past, the W.A.K.E. U.P. Smoothie can be consumed on the move!    People will turn their heads in disbelief as you gracefully glide by, breakfast in hand, and smile on face!
